Do you have these problems with your Verizon LG VX8300 or RAZR V3m?
I have an LG VX5300 that has been giving me fits with my 2006 TL (see thread here).
Although HFL support is "working on the problem" and called me back last week to get some details on the versions of various software modules on my phone, I think I need to bite the bullet and get a different phone.
My choices are between the LG VX8300 and Motorola Razr V2m. For those of you with one of these two phones, I would really appreciate hearing if you experience these problems with regard to using with an '06 TL;
1. If you are on the handset on a call, get into the car and start the engine, when the car and phone find each other in the first few seconds, does the call either a) drop completely or b) have the audio cutoff on the handset, but not appear in the car and/or c) if these don't happen, and you try to transfer to the car you get a "no call in progress" message from the HFL. (The proper behavior is for the car to start, the call continue on the handset, and you have the ability to 'transfer' the call to the car.)
2. If there is an incoming call, can you answer it by pressing the "talk" button on your steering wheel? (In my car, pressing the talk button for an incoming call will either a) terminate the call or b) answer the call, but with audio on the handset)
I'd appreciate hearing of any other problems that you have experienced with these two phones.
Thanks,
Bob

Hmmmm...
I take it from the lack of responses that people with the Verizon Razr V3m or LG VX8300 are perfectly happy with their phones.
I think I'm going to ask Verizon to exchange my VX5300 for one of these. I'm just too frustrated with the oddities of the VX5300.

Here are some threads easily found with a search. I pulled these out from the 3G TL Audio & Electronics FAQ thread I'm compiling.

Sorry for the late reply, but I did search for, and read almost every one of those threads before I posted my question. The reason for my new posting was to ask if anybody had the *specific* problems I was having, as I saw no mention of them in any of the existing threads.
As it turns out, I'm going to get a loaner LG VX8300 from Verizon to use for a few days and see myself if it works OK.
