DIY: DOM (TVnNAV2Go) Unit Installed in the 2007 TL-S
Hey Guys -
After a long period of time deciding on what way was best to install this in the TL-S, I've finally installed the thing, and wanted to share how I did it if you're interested in doing it yourself. I'm no installer, so, this was a pretty cool task for me... and it took about 4 hours. If you need any other help, or instructions lemme know -- and lemme know if I've made any errors. The Grounds in the trunk are easily visible - and are in multiple posts. I'm just trying to make this into one CONCISE post - detailed with MANY pictures. Enjoy!
First, I bought The TVandNav2go (Dom Unit)
Then, I went to the Trunk
I then bought the Same DVD unit TLFourplay got for his car -- The Audiovox from Circuit City
First, Remove all coverings from your Trunk on the Side with your DVD - don't forget to take out of all of the cargo net screws Navigation system
Then, Remove the four screws holding in the DVD Navigation Brain Unit molding
On the Back of the DVD Navigation Brain unit, you'll see a 20-pin connector that you'll need to take out, it's BLACK in color - not green
Connect the By-pass wire that came with the DOM unit into the Navigation Brain Unit, and the other end into the Black wire that originally went into the Navigation Unit.
Then Connect the RGB End of the Cable into the TVnNav2Go Unit
Next, All wires are most easily threaded through the bottom of the Center pass through in the back seat
Remove the Side Kick panels from under the doors and run all the wires that need to go from the back to the front in there (Power wire, Remote Sensor Wire, and DOM UNIT Toggle Switch Wires)
Mount the Remote Sensor somewhere in the front of the car, I preferred the symmetrical area, on the other side from where the daylight sensor is
Thread the wire around the front of the passenger seat leg area, and make sure it's high enough and tucked away so the passengers don't hit it (nor see it) and come around all the way. Then, remove the middle 'silver' trim things and thread the wire under
Open the Center Console, and remove the bottom covering.
Remove the little 'maintenance cap' and thread the wires you brought from the back through there. While out, you can drill small holes in it to allow for a nice switch position
This is what it should look like in the back, after you put the side panels back in
Put some coild tubing around it to make it look a little 'cooler'
The Front console, after all drilling, and putting in a switch, it should look something like this
Flip the Switch - and Enjoy!

Power for Nav2Go?
Looks like a great writeup. One quick question though. How did you end up getting power to your nav2go. Did you go with the ad-a-circuit at the fuse box, ciglighter adapter, or other source?
I saw the switch there was plugged into the cig adapter in the center console but I'm not sure why a switch would require power, unless you tapped that underneath to give power to the dom unit???
Good job though. Now I want to post mine really bad. I'll get around to it at some point.

is everything in your DIY the same for an '04-'06 TL?
did you use any type of audio interface?

You don't need another switch, that's what the switch for the Nav2Go unit is for.

Sorry about that -- I brought the wires through the trunk arm in the beginning to make it easier to visualize. Then when I put the tubing, I scooted the wires back along the top of the trunk so they're out of the way of the trunk arm -- otherwise there was friction when I shut the lid.

Audio inteface on Acura 2007 TLs
Looks like all handled by PNP DOM unit. But then in one of your reply you say that it using AUX audio on the center console, I can not find it in your right up. I am having Acure 2007 TLs USA model with XM radio. In some other places I read that AUX in US models used for XM. Can you tell how you connect your audio. Is DOM PNP for video only and audio searate, or it cover both. If is separate how you switch audio between 2 different audio sources.
Thanks
Thanks

This is one of the most popular devices for our TL it enables you to use your navi screen to view movies via dvd player or multimedia device.

pics have been erased by the OP. The steps are the same as the 04-06 tl. You can use those DIY's too. Also you can buy this device from NAV-TOOL, he is a vendor here
