Displaying Signal & Battery meter's on MID

I have a Nokia 6820 that I successfully paired w/ the HFL. Although I would like to see the signal & battery meters in the MID, I don't think it's possible w/ my phone.

I would like to start a list of phones that people were able to fully or partially show these meters on the MID. This would help people that are looking to buy a bluetooth phone or that currently own one and haven't fully exploited their phone's potential.

Tip's or trick's could be also added.

The SE637 shows both signal and battery meters. It pairs great with the TL although some users have complained about the phone's small buttons and alleged fragility. I don't have a problem with either of those things personally and highly recommend it.

For those with the battery indicator AND an in-car charger....

Does the rectangle around the battery 'bars' in the HFL icon blink as its charging? That's the behavior on the phone....just wondering if it's duplicated on the TL.

TIA

SE T608. The rectangle does not blink while the phone is charging.

I don't think it blinks while charging, but it probably fills up when the battery is full.

Does anyone know why the MID stays on a blank screen that shows only the battery meter and signal strength meters and other times reverts back to the previously chosen screen?

What previously chosen screen?

Which type of phone do you have?

For example, I like the MID screen that shows the odometer and the outdoor temp. However, when I first start the car with my phone (SE T637 which by the way, pairs great with the car) in my pocket, the screen goes blank except for the battery meter and the signal strength indicators at the top of the screen. If I then change the screen to the one with the odometer and outdoor temp, it usually shows that screen for a few seconds and then reverts back to the blank screen with only the signal and battery strength indicators. However, other times, it stays on the odometer and temp screen. It doesn't seem to do one or the other consistantly. Not a big deal, just wondering...
Thanks

JPMONG,

Have you tried pressing the "back" button on the steering wheel to see if this cures your problem?

I guess you can try pairing your phone again or stopping by the dealer/salesperson you purchased it from to remedy this problem.

I don't think ANY of the Nokias allow you to show signal strength, battery, etc. I think the only thing it shows is the caller ID, if present.

I also concur with the T637 Sony; both battery and signal strength show on the MID - I have AT&T btw and think the coverage is great. I switched from Nextel and told them why.

My Nokia 6820 shows caller ID (phone number), but no name.

Is it possible to show the name?

bluetooth phones without cameras

What is a good bluetooth phone without a camera. Due to my job, I'm not allowed to carry around a camera phone. The S55 looks like an option, are there any others for a GSM carrier?

The only phone I know for AT&T wireless (my carrier) is the Nokia N Gage which has vidoegame capabilties, but no camera.

Usually the phones w/ cameras & bluetooth have better features. It suks you can't enjoy these phones.

Good Luck.

This is a known bug. We have yet to determine if this is a S/E thing (my bet) or an Acura HFL thing. Pressing the HFL "Command" button and then the HFL "Cancel" button will always clear this problem, though. It's annoying, but still usable.

Sorry, but no. The Bluetooth Standards do not have any way to transmit the characters for a phone number in your 6820's phone book to the HFL.

Cheers!

AFAIK the S55/S56 are out of production and hard to get. I've been very happy with my S56; the only thing it doesn't do that I needed for one week this year is operate internationally.

I just experienced this same thing for the first time this weekend. I simply hit buttons to place a call and then hang up in quick succession .. it cleared it right up.
