Discwelder Bronze Help !!!!!!???????
Discwelder Bronze Help !!!!!!???????
I just got last night DiscWelder Bronze... and i am going crazy. I downloaded the PDF file of the manual, i also read the HELP instructions. And i am STUCK!!!!! Someone who has this program and uses it like a charm please HELP MEEEEEEE.. I would appreciate it this alot..
Now this is the problem...
I open the program fine, then i look for the folder were i have my WAV files, and they all show on the right window (left window is where you select what folders you want to look into). So accordinly do instructions, it says to rename the group name if u want and you could also re name the track, this is easy... But now.... when i select the track and put it under, And i see this.

So then i right click the track and choose track properties to change it to Sorround..

After i do this, which i dont know if this is whatt you were suppose to do.. i get a message saying this, and i click on yes.....choosing 2ms gap time

So after i click on yes, I finally get the different channels listed under the track, L,R,C, LFE,LS,RS........

FINALLY THIS IS WHERE MY PROBLEM IS.... IT TELLS ME TO ASSIGN SOULD FILES TOTHE TRACK. WHERE DO I GET THESE FROM, I INSTALLED MY PROGRAM, DID THEY COME WITH IT? WHERE DO THEY NORMALLY INSTALL TO. I DONT KNOW WATT TO DO AFTER THIS CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP OR TELL WATT I AM DOING WRONG.. THANKS ALOT...

You're making it too complicated! CD quality files are STEREO - all you need to do is double click on each one and DiscWelder will automatically give it "stereo" status and add it to the DVD-A layout. Don't bother with surround, etc. If you do, it's going to want a mono track for EACH surround channel (L, R, SR, SL, center, and LFE).
The way you had it in the very first picture was absolutely correct. Go to the next track you want to add and double click it, and you'll be well on your way.

ok i will try this. but isnt it suppose to have the 5.1 sorround thing? thats why its a DVD-A.. i just dont want a million songs in 1 cd. i want it to sound like the CD sample they give you... will these steps you are saying do this automatically? after i have selected all the tracks i just basically burn?
DVD-A is a format of audio storage, not the way audio on that disc will sound. You have to understand that first. It does not automatically create surround sound. No where in the program literature does it indicate that it will remix standard stereo sound into surround sound. DVD-A, however, does support surround sound if you were to insert 6 channels of mono WAV files. In that case what would happen is DiscWelder will burn all 6 mono channels as the track and during playback it will playback each channel's WAV file to that channel only.
It will not sound like the DVD-A sample that Acura gave you without some serious remixing of the songs. You'd have to take all the different songs and mix them separately. So unless you have the source mono tracks for each song (which you don't, since you probably have the stereo CD versions of them), it won't happen and you will have to settle for 99 songs on one physical disc.

ok. thats watt i didnt understand.... i thouhgt it was going to make it sould. 5.1 sorround sound... like the sampler... so basically its like burnung mp'3 on regular CD. and hearing it in a mp3 player... just more songs in a CD... thats it...tahnks.. alot....

I have a hard time understanding how anyone things that pulling a 2 channel track off of a CD and burning it to a DVD-A is somehow going to be ANY different than the original. It's like taking a movie off of an eaten up 8mm tape and recording it to HDD, is the extra data gunna be pulled out of the computer's @$$ ?? I don't mean to sound mean and scolding, but where did the idea come from that computers can just "CREATE" intermediate data.
Oh yeah.. I guess TV. "enhance that" from a blob on a video camera and lo and behold you can count their eyebrows. or Zoom in on that, from video on a taped session.

I agree with the rest of your post though. If the music is coming from a CD, all you are going to get is 2 channel stereo. Some surround sound can be "faked", but it won't sound nearly as good as a decent 5.1 mix.
