Disconnected battery, now can't get XM to reactivate

Disconnected the battery to do some battery maintenance. Upon reconnecting, I went through the procedures to activate the Navi (password), etc. Then the XM---it came on to the main demo channel, Ch 1, then after calling XM radio support to activate it via signal, it wouldn't activate.

Strange thing--the XM radio wouldn't scroll to any other demo channels nor would it display it's RADIO ID.

Really pissed that I have to drive to work listening to regular radio.

Did you leave it on for a while after you called?
It needs a few minutes to get the "ok" from the satellite, it has to be recieving when the satellite sends the signal.
Another thread said the radio ID and the Nav ID are different; maybe you still need to put in the radio ID?

It only asked me for the Nav ID. There wasn't a prompt for the radio ID--it just worked instantly

That seems different that what this says about the radio code:
https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/...606O00147A.pdf
So it seems like your radio didn't receive the satellite enabling code when you called.
Try calling XM with your cell phone on the way to work while listening to station 1.
Good Luck.

I'll try it again. It just seems like the folks at XM radio aren't savvy enough to help me with this problem, neither Acura.

Shouldn't my radio have prompted me for a code to use it following battery disconnection?

It is kind of strange that the radio would lose the XM code but not ask for the radio ID code.
I have had difficulty with XM service too. Try hanging up and calling back until you get someone that understands that they need to re-enable your radio.
Good Luck.

I called them up to re-enable the radio. I explained to them the entire situation and they said they would completly "disconnect" my XM, then re-enable it. It's 26 min later after the call and still no luck.

On the phone right now (on hold) waiting to talk to them again. I think I'm SOL on this end though.

No wait...45 min later, success! I didn't think it'd take longer than usual. Thanks for the advice sandynmike.

Lesson learned--XM operators aren't much of a help unless you specifically ask for technical support staff vice some contracted call center in the middle of Bombay or something.
