i have a 2004 tl which i had installed a nexus 7 and after market radio. I have a small problem where my clock is completly wrong and i really want to just make it disappear. But since i have a navi tl the clock cant be adjusted. I was wondering if there is any canle i can disconect or splice in order to make it disappear please let me know if you have any idea. or suggestions.

I found this in a Service News Bulletin from November 2004 -

Another option is to pull the fuse for the clock just before noon and put it back in at noon and the clock will be correct. Remember two things, tonight we set the clocks forward and make sure you have your radio code.

I actually haven't had to pull the fuse for my clock but was passing on a suggestion I have seen from another member. Did you check the fuse box under the hood?

I found this in another thread - "#4 fuse in the under hood fuse box"

If that doesn't work, you can always disconnect the battery - assuming you are still on board with getting the clock reset to noon or midnight.

If it killed the clock, why not do that again or are you concerned about really killing your leds? And I'm assuming the clock did reset to 12:00??

Interesting. Because I have the schematic for the upper display (called sub-display) and it has 1 pin that says "Clock".. and it is connected directly to the main navigation screen. So, I thought it was strange to see the sub-display still keeping track of time since you removed the main display.

Yeah because the main Navi Board is still behind the dash.. thats a must because that has all my ac controls wtc. I cant completely remove the navigation board only the display screen but i wonder if i shorted that pin if the clock disappear or if it will bork the entire sub display

well I wouldn't short it. But you might try disconnecting it..

this is 04-06 only. 07/08 have pins 9 and 10 reversed.

If you want to disconnect the "Clock" pin, then you just need to access one or the other. I would try pulling the pin from the sub-display. The sub-display pulls straight out. It just snaps in and out of place. There is only 1 connector on the sub-display. Disconnect it from the sub-display. Then remove the pin.

Do you know how to remove a pin from the connector? haha

well then you'll know the sub-display comes out alone and very easy. But the pin extraction is a bit tricky if you have never done it. learning curve

no u dont need a special tool other than 2 micro screw drivers.

1. remove the connector off the back of the sub-display
2. Release the locking lever on the connector. (It may break, but wont hurt too much if it does)
3. looking at the end of the connector (not the wire side), use the smallest screwdriver of a "micro screwdriver set", and stick it in the top hole of the desired pin. Apply pressure and you will feel it snap into the connector and you might here it click. Leave this smallest screwdriver stuck into the end of the connector.
4. At this point the pin is officially free to remove. Don't pull it out, but pry it out with a micro-screwdriver that is a bit more bulky/sturdy than the smallest one in the end of the connector. You need a more bulky screwdriver to pry with but still a "micro screwdriver.
5. Now with the lock lever open, it should expose more of the wire inside to socket. In fact you should see the metal on the wires, in the connector. Angle the more studry micro screwdriver into the connector and touch it on the metal. You want to pry the metal clip back out of the connector. Avoid grabbing the wire with the screw driver. Avoid prying on the wire. You want to pry on the metal that has been crimped onto the wire. This way you wont damage the wire. So, angle the screw driver into the corner between the socket and metal tip of the wire. Then apply firm pressure to keep the screw driver from slipping, rock the screw driver , prying out the pin. It only moves a little at a time. And try to not let the screw driver slip and hit the wire.

by the way, those pictures are not the actual pin position you want to use. They are example only

Even though you now have three clocks, if they are all synched and showing the correct time, then why mess with it?? It's your car and you can obviously do what you want but, if it were me and they all showed the correct time, I would move on

OP, just unplug the electronics going to the area where the clock is. You don't need anything there, so just unplug it. You'll have to remove that part of the dash to get to the plug.

Lol you forgot to mention your phone hahahahha

Well i guess you will never be late to see your gf or pick her up... she will be pissed if your late... lol I have a suggestion, set all of them at a different time, than you have a excuse why your late... just tell her that time was little off...

Not to kill the topic, but thank you for all the info guys. I will be removing my stock radio and this is gonna be a pain if it sows a wrong time!

Thanks for the great info and all the tricks that all of you have done.
