Dilema after the conversion....
My non-navi TL was successfully converted to a Navi enable system. I have an 06 TL and a 08 Navigation unit with 4.63 Navigation disc. Everything seems to work fine; however, i'd noticed that one of the function is not working correctly. After I found the POI with phone number, it doesn't allow me to dial out. Here is my question: Do the current XM receiver has to be replace along with the new hfl module with an 08 ones? Or is it because my phone is not compatible with the navigation unit? I have the crappy LG vx910. Please help.
I have an 06 tl and did the 07 nav and to use those features u will need the 07-08 HFL unit. Took me 3 months to locate one for 100 shipped for the complete map light assembly that included the hfl and you will need the connector as for it is dif. You will also need to cut off the 06 hfl connector and connect the 08 hfl connector to the associated wires. i soldered mine and heat shrunk all the connections.
Where are you located?

So all i need is a new HFL unit? no new XM receiver is required? I don't really care much for the traffic update so if the 07-08 xm receiver is for that purpose then i don't want it. I locate in western mass.
I cant say 100% for sure since i upgraded mine completely with the xm receiver as well.
However b4 i added the 08 HFL unit my call button on places i looked up or searched for on the nav would be dim. Once i installed the HFL they were lit up and i can hit call and the female voice says, calling # received from navigation system and works perfect! So based on this, id say no u dont need the xm receiver. I'd still try to locate an 08 HFL unit because its going to take sometime!

Are you guys having any issues with the sub display showing the wrong time? By the way are you using an 04-06 screen and the 07/08 drive or an 07/08 screen and drive then rewiring some connections?
my ride is an 06 but the screen, subdisplay and navigation are 08. I have no problem with the subdisplay or anything else. Everything works correctly. I just didn't do the xm receiver swap and HFL unit swap so now i can't really ultilize its' full capability. Btw, is there a DIY for installing/swapping the xm receiver with HFL unit from an 04-06 to an 07/08? I'd searched the forum (xm receiver DIY) but came up irrelevant matches. Thanks
