i have a 2005 tl with navi and want be able to use my nav screen to play video from my 5th generation ipod. i want to keep my xm but do not care about displaying text from the ipod. i have read many posts about other ways to play video but have not found one about using the dice cradle? has anyone used it? and if so, do you still need a separate video interface or does it wire directly into the navi/dvd player in the trunk?

 

You could get a PIE x3 interface for the iPod integration and Dom's Nav unit for the video. Both are plug and play and you will not have to cut or tap into any factory wiring.

Check out this thread by Elegant Type S for a very detailed install with videos. I've seen this in person and I'm really impressed with the setup.

yeah i read that post and even watched the video....definitely cool. i emailed dom and his part cost $420. i know i read they do group buys but was not sure how much that would save. but im guessing probably not enough cause i was really hoping to do the entire project for less than doms part. basically i am looking for the easiest install possible....for as cheap as possible. that being the case....do you have any suggestions?
