Custom Splash Screen for White Disk 2012 V4.A2

This is my first post, so bear with me...

First, copy the following files from the Acura V4.A2 DVD into a folder on your desktop:

09Touch2.bin
09Touch.bin
A0000_00MNG
dca0.evt
EDATA_ENUS.bin
EDATA_FRCA.bin
PRG_INFO.MNG
UPDATE_APL.exe

Download Bysin here: http://seamonkey420.tech-recipes.com...hack/bysin.zip

Extract all files.
Open the "Release" folder
Copy the two files (.exe and .dll) into the folder that you just copied the DVD files into.

Once you have an image you want to use, make sure it is 480x234 pixels, or it will not work.
In photoshop, Save As "Opening1.bmp"
File Type: BMP
File Format: Windows
Depth: 16-Bit
Click Advanced Modes-->
Select R5 G6 B5 under 16-bit
File Size MUST be 224,712, or it will not work.
Save the file in the same folder that you copied the files from the DVD into.

Repeat the above steps and save the file again, only this time name it "OpeningBase.bmp"

Next, open the command window:
Start-->Run-->Type "cmd"-->Hit Enter
Navigate to the folder with all of your files in it.

Type "C:" hit enter (if you're not already there)
Type "cd Documents and Settings" ->enter
Type "cd <your username>" ->enter
Type "cd Desktop" ->enter
Type "cd <Folder Name>" ->enter

You should end up here:
C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Desktop\<Folder Name>

next, type bysin 09Touch2.bin update Opening1.bmp Opening1.bmp

You should see this:
Updating Opening1.bmp ...

Then, type 09Touch2.bin update OpeningBase.bmp OpeningBase.bmp

This process overwrites the existing splash screen images with the two new files you created earlier.

Next, burn the eight files you copied from the Acura DVD onto a CD or DVD.

Back to the car:

Turn your key to Acc 1 and open the DVD played cover, wait until the error message appears on the screen.

Insert the disk that you just burned. Press and hold the Menu, Map/Guide and Cancel buttons until the Diagnostics Menu appears.

Select Version.

Select Download.

It will take about 3 minutes for the new files to download to the system.

If you did everything correctly, you will see your new image for a second, followed by an error message. Swap the burned disk with the Acura DVD, and you're good to go.

If anything goes wrong, you can always reset the system from the Acura DVD. Press and hold the Menu, Map/Guide and Cancel buttons until the Diagnostics Menu appears.

Select Version.

Select Download.

Please use these instructions at your own risk. Thank you.

Is this part correct? I tried doing this and just got a blank screen (first black then white).

Make sure that your files are named correctly (case sensitive) and make sure that they are in the right folder (the one you are linking to in the command window).

Does everything prior to this step look right?

I'm assuming it's suppose to say
bysin 09Touch2.bin update OpeningBase.bmp OpeningBase.bmp
right?
Does it need to be burned as an ISO?

I'm going to need to buy some more CDs before i can try again lol

My bad >.< That's a typo. It should be the same as the first command, just change the file name.

I don't know about ISO, I just burned it as a data disk using ImgBrn

The 8 files that you burn to a disc are only about 27mb. Alteast mine were on my 4.92 White Disk. I put it in and hit load version, took about 5 minutes and said dont turn of engine. When it finished it showed my new Back Splash..

for creating a custom splash screen with the 2013 disc follow the instructions in the first post above. however, the link to the bysin program doesn't work anymore. so use the "Improved DumpNavi" link in this thread:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/navigation-hack-guide-welcome-screen-mod-trip-computer-ok-button-nag-removal-604912/

i had to download a 30 day trial of photoshop to convert the image to the correct properties though.
