Custom Alarm LEDs

I recently installed an alarm in my TL. I noticed that most alarms have the LED's on the inside of the car. I saw the headlight mod done on another car, so I figured I would attempt it on my DRLs.

I was installing my subwoofer and I noticed that the marker lights in the rear were easily accessible, so I added an led there as well.

This was a relatively easy mod, but the time consuming part was running all the wires. In hindsight, I should've taken some pictures. All I have is the drl bulb modified with the led.

It only blinks when the alarm is armed.

wouldn't you always arm the alarm. hence, the reason why you got an alarm in the first place.

oh and i'd imagine the other guy is looking for details like how you did it, what did you use, etc.

cool idea tho!

So yes, as long as the alarm is armed, the LEDs will blink like that.

I used 5mm led's in the front. I drilled a hole in the 9005 DRL bulb case and fed the wires from the bulb side.

For the rear, I used 3mm led's and I drilled a hole in the rear marker and mounted the led directly. I didn't take any pics of this part.

I simply wired the extra led's to the led that came with the alarm.
