Common grounding points?
Common grounding points?
Hello,
I purchased my 2005 TL 6MT with Nav in January. I knew it had an aftermarket audio system installed at one time (amp wires are still there, tweeters up front have aftermarket grilles, etc). All was well for a while and then I started noticing some strange things...
-engine would feel sluggish/not as responsive as usual
-VSA and the VSA-off (triangle/exclamation point) lights would come on shortly after that
-then sometimes the tach, speedo and temp gauges would go down to 0
-trip computer would reset avg mph/mpg
sometimes after a few seconds the needles and trip computer would start working again (albeit the trip computer was reset except for total mileage and time) but the VSA and VSA-off would remain lit.
The needles and trip computer will do their dance multiple times. Turning the car off and back on again fixes it temporarily... sometimes for days/weeks, sometimes for just a few seconds.
The problem has gotten increasingly more frequent in recent weeks. I found this thread, which sounds identical to my issue. - https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/please-help-dvd-install-vsa-light-624800/
so my question is, where are the spots I should start checking for a bad ground? I understand under the driver seat and in the trunk near the navi unit are good places to start. Anyone else have some suggestions?
Not that this helps any, but here's a video of what happens right after I restart the car while moving after it's been doing it for a while. This was on my way in to work today. It didn't do it at all when I went to lunch 3 hours later.
Thanks!

Thanks! I'll have to poke around there too. I remember seeing one down by the resonator box when I installed the intake on my 04. This car already has one on it, but that is another spot to check.
