I paid $130 including shipping for my camera. Here is the exact one. It looks like she lowered the price.... to $115 with shipping.

It's better than I expected. So far I'm completely satisfied with the image quality in the daytime. However, I haven't tried the image quality of the camera in a lit area at night. In a almost completely dark alley, I can't see much with just the reverse lights.
I just bought my 2005 Acura TL today with Navi, used the Navi Hack and put in my own customized bitmap, however I was wondering what is exactly needed in order to put in a backup camera. Obviously the camera itself, but what else? Switches? Sorry if its a dumb question, im a noob.
it really depends on what you already have...as far as the basics, you'll need:
-a monitor
-a switching mechanism for video (like a relay)
-a camera
-and of course, there's labor. Can you do the install yourself?
There are numerous possible setups for the above. It would run you an estimated $300-$700 depending on what you need.
For me, it's going to cost less than $100. I already have an in dash monitor for my computer. My monitor just happens to have an auto-switched aux input

How about these:
http://shop4.outpost.com/product/458...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG
They look good for the job and are only $39.99 + tax/shipping from a well known retailer.
I've seen these at Bay Area Fry's for the same price and ccd models for about $50.

I just purchased the same camera from eBay for 108 shipped and insured.........hoping the install goes smooth, it looks sooo nice installed in those pics........very very OEM.
Did you have to make a hole for the wiring? Or was there enough space to get it through, if you don't mind, I might have some questions when it comes time to install mine.
Thanks.

deadlock,
check out my post titled "dvd in armrest finally installed". I have some pictures in there that show you where I routed my camera wire. You'll need to drill a hole or cut a notch into the license plate light lens to get it through...
