Clearing HFL Problem
Clearing HFL Problem
Perhaps it's me, but, I can't seem to clear the memory or delete a cell phone on my TL's HFL.. I followed the instructions to the "T" several times and get into this endless loop. Has anyone else tried it - perhaps it's just a software problem in Honda's logic? I changed phones from the Nokia 6280 to the T637 and wanted to clear out the 6820, btw. Also, one has to do this before selling the car or all of your phone numbers go with it (unless you individually delete each one).
I have had no problems deleting phones using the instructions in the manual. In fact, you can follow HFL help and it will pretty much direct how to delete.
The phone numbers are not tied to the phone. For example, I have input about 15 numbers and my wife a similar number. Regardless of which of our two phones are pairee, we can access any of the numbers. It appears that the numbers are input into the car's memory and this is in no way tied to the phone. So if you want to delete phone numbers you have to do it using the HFL and I believe that each number must be manually deleted.

TedAndDenise- If you are really desperate to clear out all the phone numbers and settings, have you tried pulling the red (+) battery cable off for a few minutes yet? That may do the trick, but I hope not. I sure hope that the HFL phone information is written into Non-Volatile memory to make sure that the information is more permanent.
If you are going to try pulling the battery cable for a few minutes, you may need to have the Acura's radio security activation code to unlock your radio.

Someone in another thread experienced the lock-ups, and said that when they removed the battery to restart the computer, they had to reprogram their phone numbers. Don't know about the actual phone pairing, though.
