Clean custom sub for TL!

Finally got my sound completed couple weeks ago. I have 08 TL type S with the factory ELS sound system. I upgraded the 2 front doors and rear deck with Infinity Reference 6032si. Then added a L5 Kicker Solo Baric with custom enclosure on a Hifonics 600watts mono block amp. Also Dynamat the trunk lid and top part of the trunk. Gotta say this system sounds great and i am very happy with it.

Looks good!

I bet it sounds great!
Do you have the box band-passed through the armrest? or is it a sealed box?

Now that's nice. It doesn't look like you gave up any trunk room.

Thanks!! it sounds really good, clean highs and tight bass. The box is sealed, it has a rear and front wings to fill all the space to fit perfect in the trunk.

They rear deck were direct drop in, the front i had to cut the plastic in the rear of the mounting hole. Not very hard to do, and online i only paid 69.99 a pair which are well worth it!!!!! They sound much better, espically if you gonna put a sub!! Without a sub, don't know if i would just upgrade those speakers. Just cause it would be to much highs IMO.

Looks good man. I have the same car just 07. I just installed a sub and upgraded the front speakers with Polk DB651s. It sounds better but I think I need to add another app for the cabin speakers.

Looks really good. I just purchased an 07 6 speed and the sub is blown. How hard is it to add an aftermarket sub and amp to the stock stereo? details?

I actually let a Local Audio place install the amp wire kit and had the wires run to the trunk. I did the rest!!

It looks like you lost a little bit of depth in the trunk with the mounting board. Is it attached to anything or does it stay put because it is attached the sub box? I was about to do smomething similar with my set up but want to keep the passthrough and as much space as possible. I am going to build a fiberglass sub box for the rear drivers side area soon.

Yes u do lose some depth, but i can care less about my trunk space!! It has a rear mounting board and front mounting board that are all connected together, you can't remove it!! The reason for it is the box is built to slide into trunk and the front and rear mounting boards are their to make it fit perfectly!! I ordered the box, it was built and shipped to me. I was very pleased with how it looks, and the sound is great. Let us know who that fiberglass box comes out if you decide to build it!

Hey nice setup.

Several Questions:
1) I'm assuming when you say Stock ELS System, you meant the HU right?
2) Any additional electrical upgrade? Another battery, or alternator? Or even a capacitor?
3) What are the specs on the L5
4) I guess depending on the answer from #2, if you do not have any electrical upgrade, how is the L5 and the Hifonics running? Have you noticed any dimming in lights and such?

Sorry for the questions, but I too was about to invest in Kickers but I thought that the stock electrical wouldn't be enough to support the system, so I went with a budget friendly alternative, The Boston Acoustics G212SS @ 300 watts RMS powered by a Kenwood Amp.

Thanks for the reply!

question 4- No electrical upgrade needed, its just a 4gauge amp wiring kit going to the battery!! No problems with lights diming at all. Like i said i did everything myself except the amp wiring, i wanted to pay to get that done and make sure all the proper stuff was used. My subwoofer control even still controlls my L5!!
