Cingular or T-Mobile in Bay Area, CA?

Guys,

I'm done with Verizon. What is a better coverage between T-Mobile and Cingular in bay area? And which are good phone with T-Mobile. I know T637 with Cingular but do not have any idea for phones with T-Mobile.

Uptill now I've been using Verizon and the coverage is very good. Have also used T-Mobile (wifes phone) in my TL. But have limited experience with the T-Mobile coverage. Any good bad experience? Call drops etc. within Bay area?

I switched to T-mobile with the T637 for about 1 week. It is not as good as AT&T TDMA but okay so far. I am in the south bay area.

By my experience, Cingular coverage in the Bay Area appears to be slightly better than T-mobile, possibly because of the 850 MHz (Cingular) versus 1900 MHz (T-Mobile). Technically, lower frequency gives you better penetration through buildings.

I have to note, though, that I don't have a cingular phone (yet), but I have been experimenting with loaners from both T-Mobile and Cingular. Either way, I know for sure that I am leaving Verizon, too. Verizon coverage sucks in the area where I live (Fremont, mission blvd), and Cingular has a stellar signal there!

Cingular shares their towers with T-Mobile in California and New York sso by getting Cingular, the 850mhz comes as a bonus.
