Changing groups on commercial DVD-As

I know how to do this, the problem is some DVD-As don't work. Is it my player or is it the disc?

Here is my experience with changing groups on my DVD-As so that I can listen to enhanced CD Stereo quality

Michael McDonald, Motown - Works fine

Alicia Keys, Songs in A Minor - Works fine

Santana, Shaman - This wont even change groups no matter how long I hold the 2 buttons

Linkin Park, Reanimaiton - This changes groups, goes to track 1, the play time goes for 1 second then the player automatically switches to the next disc in the changer.

All these DVD-As say they can play "Enhanced Stereo" in the back of the cases. If anyone has Santana or Linkin Park please let me know if it works for you. I'm sure I can get help with Linkin Park because it's a populer disc around here. I hope its not my player. Thanks.

Thanks cTLgo, but when you try to switch groups does it do the same thing that happens to me?

Press and hold both the scan and repeat buttons.

I don't remember off the top of my head so someone correct me if I'm wrong. But I know its the 2 most left buttons in that row of small circular buttons.

Thanks again cTLgo.

Thats weird. Has this been discussed before? It kind of sucks how some DVD-As will allow you to listen to enhanced stereo while others won't, even if it clearly states in the back of the case that it can play both surrond and enhanced stereo. Is it our player? Can these problem DVD-As play properly in other DVD-A players? Anyone else have this same problem with some of your DVD-As? If so please share your problematic DVD-As.

Thanks.

It's the DVD authoring. Certain, mostly Warner/Elektra/Atlantic discs are authored so that you cannot access the stereo track via groups (one exception is Rumours). All EMI & Universal discs are able to access other groups.
