can a 2006 tl radio be changed to a after market double din? if so how and can the side frames be changed?

Yes it can, but it involved alot of work and the side frames can only be changed if you take them out and fiberglass the half holes and then repaint them, you would have to repaint all of them in the car to make them match

The shop who has done all my stereo work, popped off the sides after removing the side pieces, filled in the little half moons from the OEM stereo and wrapped them in suede. Looks really cool. Stereo Advantage in Indianapolis. Cool stuff.

I have yet to find a shop in MA thats willing to mod a double din kit for my TL. So frustrating because i have a sick Pioneer Avic-Z2 unit from my old car that i would LOVE to throw in the TL.

I'm installing a double din in my 04 Tl but cant seem to find a harness for 2004 TL. does anyone know where can I find one? or else, does anyone have the stereo wiring diagram?

I agree! I'm thinking about buying a 3rd gen TL and I want to put my Pioneer AVH-P4200 in it. I haven't found a single picture of a 3rd gen TL with an afermarket deck. Someone please post up some pics!
