CD's with Song & Album Text

I've got several audio CD albums in the in-dash CD changer ('07 TL with Navi).
One disc has the text of album title and songs while the others don't.
Why is that?

when a CD is burned, it has to have the CD-TEXT option checked so it burns that text data to the disc...are these commercial discs and/or homemade ones?

Very few commerical CDs include CD TEXT. It is not widely supported (though I have no idea why).

If you burn CD's with MP3 Files, you can also see various tags (Artist, Album, Song Title, Track #) that are associated with the MP3. You scroll through them using the "disp" button below the head unit.

I think I'll rip these commercial discs into iTunes and then burn them as MP3 disc to get the song and album info.

Oh gosh, don't do that. Going from uncompressed to compressed back to uncompressed has a HORRIBLE affect on sound quality. Use Exact Audio Copy or Audiograbber to extract to WAVs, then burn back to CD. You will have to type in track information manually, but at least you won't lose fidelity.
