You guys that have installed carpc's....

How are you able to acquire net access or are you?

I am thinking of installing one to use for navi, what else are you guys using these things for? I could see mp3 storage, but i want to swap head units for something with ipod integration, like king of pain.

There are 2 ways to get internet. Local wifi, sitting in your garage and picking up the signal from your home wifi or any other wifi hotspot.. That's fairly simple and free. You can also use one of these to get broadband access. Just like plugging into your laptop. But you have to play a month fee for the service.

My head unit has ipod integration so I keep my most popular songs on my 2GB Ipod. My Carpc has everything else (2500 songs, 15gb) sorted by genre so I can get other music if I get bored.

I use my CarPC mostly for Navi and songs but it's capable of DVD, Video, local WIFI. I could add games, traffic cams, weather, back up cameras, OBD II Connections, Bluetooth, etc. Pretty much anything I want

It is worthy to try.
Double din head unit will not fit into HVAC display unit.
King Of Pain has nice setup and some others too.
I think CAR_PC is good choice and it look like factory original.

I did a little side project recently. I built a desktop pc from spare parts and I'm using it as a test box for my CarPC. Loaded all my CarPC stuff onto it and just playing around with it. I hacked up the Iguidance software yesterday

I am bore too ,so I decide to install Linux on the Fujitsu Tablet PC(3400 Model) with ICE.
I might install this unit on my 65 Mustang (Which my son bother me to give it to him).
we will meet oneday at the park with some other acuraziner(San Dimas has nice park)for BBQ or something.
We could post it in the forum....
