ProStock...

I have problems with the voice commands at times too. I found the best solution is to use the commands as they are
put out in the manual. I know that may sound like a dig, but
it isn't. They are the recognized commands and the system does respond better if it is working on a string of recognized words as opposed to picking out a known word and then fitting a command to go around it.

Keep trying, and keep the fan speed down on the climate control system when using the Voice commands.

Good Luck

I haven't had much luck with my Navi either, but I know it's because I haven't given the right commands. I just need to set aside a couple of days to learn the right words so that when I want 'XM channel 25', I don't get 'Fan Speed 5'

For XM I find that it is better to speak each digit--for example, "XM channel two-one-four" for the DC traffic station. Less chance of, say, "fourteen" being confused with "forty."

The GF tried using aviator-speak by saying "niner." It worked sometimes, didn't work others.

I was playing around with the navigation and searching by phone numbers. My friend with a strong southern accent could not get the system to understand his numbers. The system actually froze to the point I had to restart the car in order to use voice commands.

I've had trouble with radio contraols. I tell it Disc 4 track 5, and the radio will go to AM 450

I did more experimenting, I'm getting better.

I am typically saying "XM 8 1" for 81 and that seems to work better for me.

For dialing a phone number, here is what I have found works decently...

B = Hit button

1) B "call 312"
2) B "957"
3) B "0337"
4) B "call"

Dialing the number in chunks seems to work a little better, cuz sometimes it garbles up the area code and the rest of the number was a waste...

The handfree setup is pretty neat, my friends and wife said the sound quality was decent.

When a call comes in, I just hit the "call command" button and voila I can answer the call over the handsfree.

There are a few numbers where I find it easier just to use the phone to dial and then transfer the call--for example, when trying to access the office voicemail, which requires entering a five-digit extension and then my six-digit PIN. Since the HFL and the v710 do not work well if I try to put pauses into a number, I use the phone to dial it because it has the pauses programmed, and then I just transfer the call.

Also, I found one night that even if you have the call on the HFL you can still use the phone's keys to enter numbers during the call--for example, I have to hit "2" to retrieve new messages, then "0" to play back each message. It's easier to use the phone for this than it is to send each digit, IMO.

I tried just saying "847" etc and I don't need to say call at the beginning.

How do you transfer a call?

Now I do:

"312"
"123"
"1234"
"call"

Still sometimes having problems with having "8" recognized.
