Car can't find phone.

Purchased new phone two weeks ago. Paired it up to the TL, no problem. Incoming and outgoing calls worked fine. Yesterday I noticed the phone icon was not in the upper display. Tried to make an out going call using HFL and it didn't work. Tried for an hour to pair the devices again, with no luck. The phone and the HFL are not recognizing each other. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

What kind of phone? Did you try going into setup, removing the phone then readding it?

I got the same issue - upgraded to a new Evo and my car wont sync with the new device. I cleared all phones out of the system and tried to start over from scratch but it still doesnt sync up. Tried with 2 other phones and it wont recognize either of those anymore...so Im leaning towards my BT module went out at some point. Try clearing all devices like he said and try multiple devices if possible to narrow out your one device...also make sure you use a different name for the device and try a different pairing code too.

Just my 2 cents from info I gathered over the forums the past few days...hope it helps

have you attempted to put the phone in search mode (not discovery mode) at the same time the car searching for the phone? that was the only way I could get any of my droids everyone has 3 to get the bluetooth to sync properly.

I usually have mine discoverable and then search as well....should I try without making it discoverable?

Try turning on your bluetooth on your phone in settings then get the car to the point where its about to search for your phone and right before its about to search for the phone select "Scan for Devices" in the Bluetooth menu then have the car search for the phone. They should then pair

I whacked the over-head console a couple of times with my hand. Works fine now!!
Thanks for all your input, everyone.

I had to replace mine. It was doing the same thing. Was paired before vacation, came back and nothing. THe problem now is that every time I get in the car I have to turn the bluetooth off and back on to get it to connect. My husband got the new one out of a 2004 that was totaled from a rear end hit. Took 1/2 a day to delete all their crap out of it as well.

there's a command in the system to wipe it entirely. I dont know it off the top of my head but it's meant to be used when the car's sold.

That would be great to have! I tried listening to each one and deleting them and ended up deleting call "Home" lol. I think we deleted all the phones that were paired but I can double check later. I would love to wipe it clean though. I think the previous owner had Navi and loaded all those numbers in as I would not have the time to load all the numbers they put in there!
