Car Alarm
I will be getting my car alarm installed this Saturday morning....the alarm system has remote start, keyless entry, trunk, cold start...and a bunch of other misc. things that it can do.
What should I ask my installer?
Should I tell him to install it a certain way?
What to look for when he is done?
Any kind of questions I should ask him or tell him to do will be greatly appreciated...
thanks

by the way the installer works at honda and installs car alarms for them...he's doing this on the side for me at $125 including the honda module...that doesn't need a spare key

don't bump threads, but do search site.
What brand/model of car alarm you are getting? Are you consider the window roll up module?

find out if you will be able to retain the Memory 1 and 2 settings, the window roll down along with the sunroof. BTW I moved it into the right section.

retaining memory positions will depend on the by pass module that he will use.
things good to know.
1. diote isolate all main connections if possible.
reason a lot of cars have been brocken in, by shorting just a light bulb making the alarm usless.
2. try to get a back up battery.
3. if getting a shock sensor. make sure that is not too sensetive.
your neighbors will love you for your alarm not going off during a thunderstorm. try to get a glass sensor as well if possible.
4. on remote start. try to get a relay for anti grind. so when remote started you do put a key and try to turn toward start again. it will not grind your starter.
5 try to wire a kill switch. should be part of install.
6. make sure that you are aware where and how to bypass incase you will loose/misplace remote.
7. A MUST make sure that you tie in your HOOD PIN, for remote start.
if any one works on the car including you.... and accidently will press the remote that may be (in your POCKET or on kichen table.) get the idea?
the remote start will be dissabled.
8. same as above make sure that once remote started and you press on the brake will shut down the car.
when armed - check all doors, each door is on a seperated circuit and should be isolated from each other.
that's about it.
