Only if the car is moving. Not a bad option to keep the wife entertained

What's the use in flaming?

First of all it would not be illegal. Depending on local laws it might be illegal to use it while driving, but having the ability to play DVDs thru your navigation screen is not illegal.
Second, how is it stupid? I would love to have a DVD player built into my car. I work in construction so during lunch time I either can sit in a noisy, dirty area or in my car, I usually choose my car. Having a DVD player right there would be great, especially if it could play Video-CDs so I could burn and watch TV Shows. Is that really stupid?
Furthermore, the passenger and kids in the back can all have entertainment during long (or short) trips. If the driver chooses to watch while driving than I would call that stupid, but nothing else.
