I plug mine into the 3.5mm jack under the power outlet in the centre console.

since the TL doesnt have AD2P, streaming bluetooth is out.

I recently installed the P.I.E. x3
and it lets me connect a 3.5aux cable to my android phone.

I'm sorry for not being more descriptive. I have a 04TL with NAVI. I've heard that I can use my Android phone with the Isimple which will allow me to use the steering wheel controls to change the song and also displays the songs text info from my Android in the exact same way the XMradio does. What model of the Isimple do I need?

iSimple doesn't make a model that connects to the android phone for controlling the music with the car.

^ I believe that is correct, only apple products. but you can look at the owners instructions for the device on their website.

Just got one of these for my HTC One X.

http://shop.htcpedia.com/htc-car-ste...idge-a100.html

It allows you to connect any bluetooth device to it and stream audio in great quality over it. Plugs into your 3.5mm jack, then you just pair with bluetooth. Works with any phone. Audio quality is indistinguishable from CD quality.

It's cool, and you have an awesome phone btw, but OP is looking for something to control music using the car.

I mount my phone on the vent by driver side climate controls using a rocket fish gps mount. That way UI can easily access controls and make use of the navigation on my x10. Steering wheel controls would be very cool though. Hopefully someone has a solution.

Or even cheaper, buy an iPod. They're a dime-a-dozen and people literally have them sitting in drawers.

The iSimple will allow a 3.5mm input jack, but you are controlling the music on your phone still - no steering wheel controls. iSimple calls this Aux in.

iSimple has steering wheel controls for iPhone or iPod through a direct interface.

I was in the same boat as the OP when I first started looking into options- same year, navi, no Apple products, etc.

To answer your question, OP, I refer you to the very first post in this thread:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/isimple-media-interface-install-location-box-itself-856709/

Click on the eBay link and you will find the iSimple model that will work for your phone (or any 3.5mm input, for that matter). What has been said thus far is right- there is no ability for an iSimple to control song selection through an Android phone. Only Apple products have that kind of support, but you can control volume and such.

It's inconvenient, but I dislike Apple products enough to not want to buy an iPod/iPhone/another device when my phone does the job just fine as it is.
