Today, I think my BT module finally died. I hit the steering wheel button and only the signal strength and battery level indicators come up on the MID display without the word MAIN and no phone audio. Now its stuck in phone mode with no related beep prompts, etc. and I can't get out of it. No radio, no nuthin!

Thoughts?

It's dead, Jim.

Mine went similarly. The menus would work, but it would fail when pairing a phone and get stuck such that the radio was locked out. Power cycling wouldn't even get it unstuck.

As a temp fix, you'll have to pull the roof console, unplug the BT module, wait a minute, plug it back in and turn the ignition on to accessory (II) to see if it releases the controls. And then maybe unplug it and leave it unplugged.

Kudos to Paul, our 10 star master mechanic in Northern NJ! He disconnected it, then disconnected the battery.
Then put it all back together and low and behold, another TA DAAAA..........
Like all computer related products, all it needed was a complete restart!

Didn't have to replace the damn thing after all !

That's the first thing I would have tried.

The good old saying "did you turn it off and try to turn it on again?"
I've lost count how many times I've had to tell my parents that for their Apple products when something doesn't work like WIFI or speakers.

I did at first. It took disconnecting both the BT unit AND the battery simultaneously.
