Buggy HFL dialing commands for 2005?

Could somebody with a bluetooth phone and a 2005 TL confirm what I'm seeing? I have a Sony Ericson T68i with a 2005 6MT.

1. Dial a number that gets you to voice mail and/or a voice menu system.
2. When you get the voice mail, try to enter some numbers via HFL.

Does it work for you? For example, if I'm trying to reach extension "200", saying "Dial 200" or "Call 200" will get me "0200". Or if I say "Dial #333", I might get "*#333". That is, the HFL system is alway inserting an extra digit. But this doesn't happen if I'm trying to initiate a new phone call.

According to the manual, you're supposed to use the 'SEND' command, not dial or call. Try that and see if it works.

I'm probably doing it wrong but..to retreive my messages I resorted to using the handset, it works. Would like a better solution though.

Aha! That did the trick. But kind of wish they didnt' differentiate between "SEND" and "DIAL/CALL". Well, I can live with it. Thanks a bunch.

When you use the SEND command, does that HFL make you confirm the numbers you are SENDing the same way it makes you confirm the numbers you are DIALing? I'm pretty sure mine does, and it sometimes causes my voicemail system to time out by the time I'm finished. Turns out it's easier to just dial the codes from the handset once the voicemail answers.

Yes, you have to confirm the numbers. So I agree in many cases, punching in the numbers is the only option.

I did something that made this task a little less painful.

I have two Voicemail entries in my TL phonebook.

One (called 'Voicemail') is just a *86.

The other (called 'Voicemail Access Code') contains #p1234#p1, where the 'p' represents the "Pause" command, and 1234 is my voicemail's access code. The 'p1' at the end would instruct Voicemail to play my messages, if the TL properly supported pauses.

However, the TL doesn't currently support pauses in the dialing sequence, so the 'p1' probably isn't necessary.

My dialing sequence goes like this:
  1. Press HFL Command button
  2. Say, "Dial Voicemail"
  3. Acknowlwdge the command
  4. Wait for "IN USE" display (don't wait for audio)
  5. Immediately press HFL Command button
  6. Immediately say, "Send Voicemail Access Code"
  7. Acknowlwdge the command
You should now be in your voicemail. You will then say stuff like, "Send 1" & Acknowledge to play your messages (and so on).

Good luck!

Thanks, GotJazz. The separate "Code" listing works fairly well. Interestingly, I'm finding that one problem with my voicemail box and the HFL is the fact that my extension ends in "00". The HFL really struggles to send those codes back to back. By inserting a pair of pauses between the zeros, it works every time. Does anyone know what the total character limit is for an HFL Phonebook entry?

I believe when you want to send a number, you don't have to wait to say "Yes" to respond to the confirmation. You can also hold down the voice command button and it works. I've found that this does NOT work when you first dial a number, however--every time I've tried that, it dials and immediately hangs up. I have no idea why.
