Unhappy Both tweeters making crackling noise

So I just bought my first DVD-A, Tesla's "Standing Room Only" (live). When I turn it up I notice that most times when a guitar is playing there is a constant crackling noise coming from the right and left tweeter. I have been able to reproduce this when driving or in park and only have to turn the volume up to 8 to hear it. It does not happen with radio, XM or CD's.

Now, I know that this is rock music and has lots of guitars, drums, etc. that generally are loud, but is it kind of ridiculous to be having this problem when the volume is only at 25% of max level? Do you think it's a bad connection? speaker touchning something below the dash? problem with the speaker grill?

I really want to get this fixed. I am completely blown away by the sound from a DVD in this car even with the crackling, but it is annoying to hear it nonetheless.

Anyone else having this problem? I did extensive searching in the problems and fixes section and the audio section and could not find an exact match. Thanks for any help!!

I have noticed this in my left tweeter when I'm playing my I-pod thru a cassette adaptor. I notice it with considerably more volume than you are using though

Question

Anyone else have the same situation? Is this a defect? Should I take it to the dealer and have them replaced or would it be better to put aftermarket tweeters in?

Have you tried listening to this DVD-A on another system? You're home system for example(if it's DVD-A compatible that is). You mentioned it's your first DVD-A so one thing to try is to borrow a different DVD-A to see if it does the same thing. It could be a defective DVD-A. I would say that if you had bad tweeters you would hear the noise regarless of the source. On occasion, I get this type of distortion when I use my wired FM transmitter with my Ipod but I am sure it's just extraneous noise from the FM tuner and not my tweeters.

Yeah, I've thought about trying a different DVD-A since it only occurs with the one I have. I just need to buy another one to compare them. I am going to try it in my home theater system too and see if I get the same problem.

Thanks to all who have posted with suggestions!
