Bluetooth, Sprint and the TL
LG is scheduled to release a Sprint PCS Bluetooth phone in September. The model is the 325 and is a slider-type phone.

TLover, thanks very much for this info.
Sorry for clueless questions, but what is LG? And what is a slider-type phone? I'm only familiar with flip-type and standard-type. Thanks.

Instead of flipping open, the phone slides open.

Think the V710 could be used on the Sprint network? I know it's a verizon phone, but that V710 sure looks nice. I haven't seen a pick of the 325, but from the sounds of things, I think I'd prefer using the moto phone

So can you buy a bluetooth phone and have your provider hook it up? I have Sprint and I like the Motorola V600, but that phone is only offered by AT&T and Cingular

Sony T608
I have the Sony Ericsson T608. Currently it is the only bluetooth phone that works with sprint. It works with the HFL VERY well. If someone is interested, you can get them on Ebay.

LG applied for FCC approval of this phone this week. The FCC authoizaion letter confirms the phone is a PCS Bluetooth phone:
https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/c...cc_id=BEJLX325
The user's guide confirms it is for Sprint:

And here's some photos:

Did some searching and found a picture, (the link above doesn't work anymore). I am guessing this is it.
LGPM-325. The Bluetooth phone appears to match the SonyEricsson T608's feature set completely, adding an improved display, slider format, VGA camera with zoom, and SMS.
Expected Price: Not determined, somewhere between $199 and $299. Expected Launch: September, 2004

From what I was told you can use the wireless jabra headset, and the bluetooth on that will work with the system. You all will have to check to verify. If it doesn't work I'm sure you can return it.

I have had my 04 TL since January. I have been waiting for a better Sprint phone to come out (I dont much care for candy bar phones). I was going to surrender and just settle for the T608. Glad I did a search, I'm sure that the new phone is worth waiting for.

Bringing this thread back to life since the expected release date was Sept, and we are getting close.
Anyone have any news/rumors?
I have two things:
1) It may not be released until October.
2) https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/f...ive_or_pdf=pdf
Could someone copy text, I can't open it, from the link above and email it to me, aeroengineer@gmail.com ? It should be the user's guide and photos for the LG325.

I just got this info via email with Sprint............the lack of information they provide is mind boggling. If only I did not have another year on my contract they would be history. I have been getting the same story since January when I got my car.
I appreciate the opportunity to address your concern.
Please understand that we do plan to launch some new bluetooth phones.
Currently we will not be launching the Bluetooth phone by LG. When we
launch this phone you will be notified regarding the price.
We appreciate your support in this regard.

mobilzen,
I would leave them in a minute except I have a family plan and each phone on the plan has an early termination fee. I like the family plan because calls to the same provider are free and with 2 college kids it sure saves lots of minutes!
