Bluetooth phone connects while car is off
Bluetooth phone connects while car is off
I have an SE w600i paired to a 2005 TL. The problem that I am experiencing is that the phone will connect to the TL even when the car is off. Has anyone experienced the same problem? If so, is there a fix for this?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Can you be more specific? Are you saying that when the phone is in range, it will connect with HFL even when the car is off? Or the phone remains connected to the HFL even after you turn off the engine and take off the keys?
By design, the phone should stay connected to HFL for up to 25 minutes (or something like that) even after the keys have been removed. This allows you to finish or transfer the call to your phone even after you have parked.
BTW, I have seen at least one other thread on the w600 on here. You should try a search as well.

Did a search for w600 and did not see anything related to what I am experiencing.
Datmrman, your statement about the phone staying connected after 25mins is a good point that I need to investigate. What happens is when I shut the car off and walk away, the phone disconnects. However, whenever I get in range it reconnects to the HFL.
Once the car is off and the phone is disconnected, should the phone reconnect to the HFL when in range? Shouldn't the bluetooth in the TL not be active when the car is off?

Blue Tooth Connectivity Problems
There Sure Is A Fix For That Blue Tooth Issue You Re Experiencing. The Fix For It Is To Take The Car With The Phone To An Acura Dealer So That They Can Document And Correct The Problem. Most Of The Time When People Try To Fix Problems Them Selves And The Car Is Still Under Warranty They End Up Causing More Harm Than Good And Your Repair Bill Will Be More Than Exciting Because Your Warranty Got Voided.

From what it sounds like your HFL is staying on after you turn off the ignition. Mine always stays on after I turn off the ignition, it then drops the connection after I am out of range. But once I Come back to the car it does not connect until I turn the ignition on. I read a couple of treads were the HFL even drained the batteries from staying on.

I think I had that same problem.... went into work, had my cell in the car with the HFL on and when I came out 2 hours later for a break, my car almost didn't start. I didn't think the bluetooth connection would drain the battery but now, that you (jc05tl) brought this up, Im starting to wonder.....
BTW, I have a SonyEricsson W810i
Well, it seems as though the phone only reconnects to the HFL after turning off the ignition for a limited amount of time. Now that it's been 2 hours since it last reconnected, my phone no longer connects (which is expected).
Maybe once the ignition is off, there is a timer that turns off HFL after the last connection?

I know mine has consistently disconnected when more than 15 ft from my TL. Like others have mentioned, it then reconnects "only" once back in the car and ignition on/acc.
I too have read cases where the HFL has drained the battery. If it continues I would seek your dealerships assistance before it leaves you stranded.
Once the ignition is turned off, the phone will stay connected for up to 25-30 minutes so that you can complete a call that you may be on or receive new calls. If you get out of the car and walk away (or, even hang around the car for a minute or two after opening the door), the phone should disconnect.
Once disconnected, the HFL should completely power off, and reconnection should ONLY occur by turning the ignition switch to at least the "I" position.

He's not crazy, i had the same problem. I had TL05 with treo 650. I would park my car (close to wear i was). I would dial number on my phone and it didnt do anything, then i look at display and it says its in handsfree. sure nuff the car was still communicating. I now have 07 and didnt try it yet but everything works much better with the 07.
