Bluetooth pairing issue

Hi,
I just got a new phone, 7th since I got got my tl. I tried pairing it with the tl but it states I had to delete atleast one of the older phones to make space for this one. SO, I deleted 3-4 of the old phones that i dont have anymore and re-tried the pairing process with the new one. But, it still tells me to delete one to continue with the process. It is but it isn't deleting the phones. Any suggestions?

You can always clear all of the settings. But you'll lose your phone book.

Are you trying to use a phone name that is the same as an existing name? or close? If so it won't be able to tell the difference between the names.

I don't know if this applies to your case, but I've found that if you're re-linking a phone, like I have an Ipaq that I had to do a hard reset on, the car can really give you a hard time pairing it up. What I've found is to delete the phone, then go to work or park the car for the night, and the next morning try to link it. That has worked for me, I don't know why, but it must take time for the system to clear the phone settings out.

I recently got a new phone and I had similar pairing issues. I had to do a total system clear. I think I went to the setup menu, then option was like system clear or something. It sucks because it does a total reset and clears all your phonebook entries and everything. It was the only way I was able to get my new phone to pair, but everything is working fine now after the system clear.
