Bluetooth audio in a 3G TL-S??

So the iPhone update 3.0 coming out this summer will allow iphone users to stream audio over bluetooth. Does the 08 TL-S support this?

Stinks it wont work. For some reason the new voice memo recordings on the new 3.0 software will come through the speakers on bluetooth but audio wont.

Bluetooth audio FTL. Sound quality is sub par. If you have an iPhone / iPod why would you want to use bluetooth when using a direct cable is nets you much better SQ.

Yes, while it may be a "cool" factor, using an audio source with a physically linked input will give you better sound.

I agree that it would be cool if it worked via Bluetooth if you just went for a quick trip but for longer play time I'd rather have it connected via a wire so the device gets charged as well.

actually it will work only if you have a receiver/adapter that supports Bluetooth Stereo (A2DP).

There are a number of stereo bluetooth receiver adapters that will work with our 3rd Gen TL's. The first one that comes to mind is the Parrot MKI9100/9200 series. While this device also includes bluetooth phone connection, you don't need to pair your iPhone with it. You can just leave the phone section paired with HFL and the iPod music part of it paired to the Parrot.

here's a link for more info on the Parrot devices.

I plan to get one soon as the sound quality is pretty close to a wired connection and beats having to deal with shitty cables hangin everywhere in the car.

What's up James? I was curious about this Bluetooth Audio question for my iPhone also.

I like the iPod + Interioir of the new TL but don't like the outside enough to trade up.

the reason it won't work is because the music audio from the iPod function of your phone is transmitted via A2DP. (protocol for stereo Bluetooth)

HFL in all 3rd Gen Acura TL's is mono Bluetooth only and does not support A2DP. the Voice Memo app in the 3.0 OS is also transmitting via regular mono Bluetooth just like the phone section does. that's why it works, and music doesnt

my setup doesn't have wires out everywhere just an iPod dock cable. But it is a bit annoying when a rear passenger is trying to be the DJ.

I search as much as I could about this and found this dead thread.

I've been driving a few cars that uses my phone to stream through A2DP and it's a great convenience. Also with my best friend's Optima and the 2012 TL I got as a loaner the audio was exactly the same if it my iPhone was connected by the auxiliary cable. It seems like there are solutions for our cars to replace the XM Radio button to toggle a Bluetooth audio stream.

This product for example http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=14148

and this http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=16235 if you add this http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=11457

So it seems like we have options but neither look as flawless as the oem options form our newer counterparts. Does any have experience with either the iSimple w/bluetooth or the Grom w/bluetooth?

Lots of people using isimple. The favorite bluetooth module is the blackberry music gateway. It won't enable the hand controls, but its reliable.

You'll need a way to get an aux port for 04-06 and then there are any number of ways to add the bluetooth.

I'm hoping with the in-dash options we can control the iPhone/iPod using the steering wheel mounted controls. If it works like the current generation of the TL with the technology package then.. it's official the 3G TL is my favorite lol

It think I read Here on Azine the other day that iSimple is coming out with an all in one device, the iSimple Connect, that will have the A2DP standard and will be a simple plug and play for our cars without having to add a separate Aux line in. I'm waiting til it comes out tomorrow from I Simple and the bugs get worked out before getting one.

If it works as planned, it'll be much better than trying to install a separate adapter and then a separate BT module.
