Question Blue Screen of Death...almost

Yesterday, I hit the Map/Menu/Cancel buttons simultaneously to bring up the diagnostic screen, then went to the satellite display. Cool image with those eight sats orbiting up there. However, in trying to go back to the map image I found that the screen had frozen and nothing, including the touch screen and all of the navi buttons, worked. Moment of panic that I had destroyed something. All went back to normal when I turned the ignition off for a few seconds then back on. Is this an event that sometimes happens, or have I stumbled upon an omen of impending disaster? Guidance would be appreciated.

unless you know what you are playing with, don't touch it

you really can't destroy anything in there. worse case you would change a setting and you can always do a force download to restore everything

Actually, I had successfully explored the diagnostics several times before, but this was the first time the screen had frozen on me. I thought this phenomenon was reserved for Bill Gates' creations. Live and learn.
