Well, one idea is just to throw that thing out and get an aftermarket sub.. That thing is useless anyway, it's like 40 watts.
Or you can get a replacement sub of that size if you don't want to install an aftermarket one, there are plenty out there. It's a 8 inch sub I believe, there are kicker subs, infiniti, JL and etc.. search around - problem is that the stock sub is a "free air" sub, if you drop in an aftermarket sub you will have to seal off every hole on and around the rear shelf to make it an "enclosure" so to speak.
