Blitzsafe+Soundgate+iPod+Sirius

Hey guys,

I know this topic exists over numerous threads but searching through them kinda makes things more confusing so I apologize if these questions have been answered before.

My car: 2006 TL w/Nav.

My goal: iPod and Sirius direct hookup. Don't care about XM.

From what I've read, the Honda iPod solution is terrible so I'm willing to get dirty to make this happen.

Items I'm looking to buy based on threads here:

Blitzsafe HON/AUX DMX V.2
http://www.logjamelectronics.com/blitzhonauxdmxv2.html

Soundgate AUX3
http://www.logjamelectronics.com/soundaux3.html

Blitzsafe UII iPOD Universal Interface
http://www.logjamelectronics.com/blitzuii.html

Will these items allow me to accomplish my goal?

Any advice and installation tips are greatly appreciated. I'd be willing to document my steps and post pictures. The only thing that worries me are the siliver side trims but I've ordered a trim tool to get those off safely.

Thanks alot!

I believe that you will be able to accomplish your goals with that equipment. Did you order the KTC Trim Removal Kit from your dealer?

I ordered the pry tool from here:

Removing the silver trim is what's worrying me the most, I'd hate to bend it or break it.

Ouch, $40 with shipping and handling. I wonder what the dealer (if available) wants?

Tensor - I am looking to accomplish the exact same Sirius+iPod integration (except i have a 2004TL w/Navi), but I am not technically inclined to do this myself. I'll be looking for an installer. After reading many of the posts here, I was leaning towards the same set of products (although considering the PIE equivalents as well)

The compatibility info for the Blitzsafe Aux Input Converter does not include your 2006TL. Does that concern you?

Once this AUX input and 3-way is installed, which Source would you select via the OEM headunit to activate the new 3-way source? Do we lose any of the existing sources or features? (I don't subscribe to XM, so I'd be willing to lose that).

Good luck! We're looking forward to seeing your results Tensor.

Thanks,
-Chris

From what I've read in logjam's forums there should be no problem.

The aux source is selected via a mounted switch. XM would be lost using this particular aux input but I'm gonna use Sirius anyways. There is a harness available that allows keeping the XM hookup.

I've recieved the panel poppers but the AUX3 is backordered, hopefully it will ship soon.

Good luck!
