Unhappy Blew a brand new sub!

hey guys i just got a Kicker L5 12" and it just blew, i have a JBL GTO601.1 II amp which puts out 580 at 2 ohms

i understand that u need to go easy on em for a week or so i put the bass boost at lowest possible xover was a lil high and freq was waaay to high

so i just cant figure what went wrong please help im tired of buying these f'n things

START here....if it confuses you, take it to a pro. Read the ENTIRE sight if u want to learn a little on audio, I still use it for reference. http://www.bcae1.com/gaincon2.htm

they want 65 bucks an hour just to look at it..

btw, yes. Likely improperly set gains, crap for source material, not being able to hear a speaker moving beyond its mechanical limits, or a combination of all 3.
