Best mount for iPhone?

Hey bros,

I'm looking for a good phone mount. I really don't like anything you stick to the window plus I have radar so it's going to become a bit cluttered. I was on Amazon and I noticed a bunch - a mount for the cd slot, a mount for the air vent (not doing it because my mom's air vents in her mdx see fragile and broke off), a holder for the steering wheel, and one with a heavy base you can put on the dash. Any recommendations what works best for the 06 tl? Thx all.

I would do a proclip mount. Looks custom and is super sturdy but pricey.

There are these new magnetic ones if you have a 6 or 6+, I would maybe do that as well. Post what you decide to get

I was looking at the magnetic ones but won't they mess with the hardware of the phone or no? And yes I have a 6 but it's got a case and preferably I don't want to have to take it off every time. I'll definitely update you guys on what I get.

I have one of the ProClip mounts that vmodi89 suggested coming in tomorrow. I can post a picture of for you to see if it's something you might be interested in before you order.

I just got a ProClip for iPhone 6 (no case) hardwired kit installed in the past week.

Link to what I bought here: Apple iPhone 6 Without A Case Padded Charging Holder with Tilt Swivel and Straight Power Cord for Fixed Installation-ProClip USA

Note: Some pics look a bit different as I had to take pics of my phone in the mount with my work iPhone 5.

Followup: Also note that the $110 price is for the clip itself only! While they have less expensive clips with and without power cord and with and without hard wire, you also have to buy the actual mount piece for your car separately. There are three options for the 3G TL, all of them are $30.

For me, both pieces all in with shipping, was $142.35. However, it's the best clip out there for the money. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Solid construction and it won't move accidentally.

Yah this is exactly what I wanted but couldn't find on Amazon.

I already have an isimple and a bunch of chargers so I don't need the additional charger that it comes with - just the clip. However I noticed you said it's $110 for just the clip. I found one for $40. Any change in quality?

Apple iPhone 6 With A Case Adjustable Holder for Small to Medium Cases. - ProClip USA

Looks like a fair price. How simple is it to install especially for someone traveling without many tools? I managed to install the isimple aux unit myself but like I said, I don't have any tools with me

The one you linked is just for the holder. That's fine and it totally works for what you want, but you still need their mount which is $30.

If you have a cord/power/charger then you just need the holder you linked to, plus the mount ($30).

Install for the clip and mount is easy -- 3 minutes, just pull up the trim with a tool or flat head, and snap the mount onto the car... then screw the clip into the mount.

Watch the videos at their site. It'll walk you thought it all.

Gotya. Makes perfect sense now. I thought the mount was part of the holder so in reality it's $60 for both which isn't bad. Okay cool.

I'm traveling right now and have my tools at home, I'll probably just do this when I get back and update y'all with pics then.

EDIT: It comes with the gap opener so I'll just try it now.

I funded a kickstarter, Which had an amazing magnetically shielded mount. It works phenominally, and for the price, I don't think I'll be able to beat it. Stands and Mounts for iPad, Tablets, Smartphones, Laptops, and Cameras ? Bungajungle I use the Neutron A, and I have it right in the middle of the flat space in front of the clock readout. The only thing it blocks from view is the radio station, but you can see that on the Nav. I love the product.

There was a magnetic mount on Amazon I wanted to get but is it really a smart idea to mix electronics and magnets together?

EDIT: So my front runner currently is something you place on the dash. I appreciate MPSCAN's recommendation but as I was driving earlier I felt that it's too far down to the side and you shouldn't be turning your head that much to see the GPS. I want something to put on the front middle speaker. That's the perfect position for a screen (IN MY OPINION) and doesn't obscure view too much.

So this is the base I'm looking at:
Amazon.com: AmazonBasics GPS Dashboard Mount for Garmin, TomTom, Magellan and Other Portable GPS Navigators: GPS & Navigation Amazon.com: AmazonBasics GPS Dashboard Mount for Garmin, TomTom, Magellan and Other Portable GPS Navigators: GPS & Navigation

And this magnet holder (but I'm not sure if I should mix electronics and magnets together OR if they are even compatible):

I chose the ProClip mount that was lower and on the right. They also have this mount too which is pretty much in your face:

I like the mount that slides into the CD slot. It keeps the phone at a good height and easily accessible, plus it's cheap (around $20).

I went with the imagnet. $20 new. Why spend $80 on a proclip when this does the same exact function? Additionally when you get a new phone down the road, you won't need a new proclip.

Robot Check Robot Check

Incredibly simple and convenient. Pulling phone off >> Sliding phone up and out. I made a few sharp turns and it didn't wiggle one bit. I'll post pics of the setup tomm. The only con I think up of is you need a case for your phone otherwise it won't work.
