Backup Lights/Modification

Was hoping someone else has done this and can trow me some advice.

I hated my halogen back up lights so I bought the UPCB-xWHP30-T10 lights from Superbrightleds.com. Translated i bought the big flat 30 head LED that connects to the 921 connection.

The problem is that one, the head will not fit in though the hole in the back, second once its in its just going to flop around.

I decided to take off the entire back assembly that has the reverse lights it it but i can't figure out to get the plastic covering (that looks like carbon fiber where the license plate connects to) away so i can drop in the lights, firmly attach it and then close it all back up so its not half a**ed and is done right.

Anyone have any suggestions or have done this before?

Thank you

Can you Cut the hole in the back, so that it can fit?
then tape it so it wont move?

Nope I thought of that too.

Once you get to the housing from the back there is a hard plastic assembly that holds the reflective part in place ( seems like a waste of space and material) thats what makes me think I can take apart the entire thing and approach it from the front. There were 4 screws that held on the chrome piece just above the back up camera but other than that nothing, almost looked like it was just held together with adhesive.

^any of the online dealers have these diagrams.

oemacuraparts.com
acuraoemparts.com

these are sites maintained by dealers. these diagrams are for part numbers, so that you can see what you're buying.

unfortunately, those sites will just give you the part number of number 22.

in the diagram, item number 22...I only see #19, #27, and #32 holding down the fake carbon fiber plastic thing.
