Backup Cam

In what year did they added the backup cam? I saw a 04 Navi today and it didn't have it.

Is it possible to add it to a navi with non-backup cam?

hi, the 07+ tl's with navi have the backup camera. You can add them to the 04-06 TL with nav using dom's tvnav2go converter and a back-up camera.

the choice is $150 for the convertor device and same amount for a camera to go to it, you can also consider the wireless ones with their own 2.5 inch screen, price keeps dropping- just saw it for 59 plus a 10 dollar rebate
Bout time I get for my 01, with the back windows tinted so dark, it would be a nice safety device.

In a few years they will be mandatory,
based on how many people start the SUV and throw it in reverse without a single look as they back out directly in front of you...
I for one want to see those things equipped with a big screen and a warning thing screaming !!watch out! stop! stop!!!

Drigo, when he had his 06 TSX installed a back up cam. He had a special wire hardness made that enabled him to plug the cam right into the Navi in the trunk. Apparently there's a connector there. May be the same for the TL. I think he paid around $100 total. You can PM him to check on it. I'm sure he would be glad to help. Good luck.
