Auto Climate Control SoS?

I'm having a hard time figuring out how the auto climate setting works in the gen3 TL's. I have had a Gen3 Integra have a RSX the auto climate control works differently in the TL's. In the other cars I have and had you just set it to the temp and it will bring temp up to the setting asap. Even maxes the fan setting get maxed on other cars to get up to temp. The TL's just seem to take it's own sweet time to come up to temp. Also what is up with the sun sensor on the TL's that is on the front dash? I will be going down the road and if the sun hits that sensor the auto setting barely works. If I turn the car so the sensor is in the shade the fan will go to a higher setting and the car will warm up to the temp set to.

It sounds like your issue is regarding the heater on cold mornings rather than A/C in warm weather. Buffalo, NY.

The CC is "set and forget" if you leave it on "auto" at a certain temp-- but the heater fan, etc. will not run on "auto" until the heater core has warmed up, which may take a couple of minutes. After the car warms up a little, the heater and fan should come right on and increase in intensity until the temp approaches the preset temp, then decreases in intensity of heat/volume. We use the seat warmers during that time, too.

Yes more for heat then cold air this time of the year around Buffalo. I'm use to setting it and forgetting it. I have used a auto start on all my cars. On the TL even after the car temp gauge is saying it's up to temp when auto start is used or not the auto setting doesn't crank the fan like it would on other cars I set the same way automatically to bring cabin temp up to setting asap. I also use the seat heater and found when the sun is on the sun sensor the heat in the seat turns off or at least to a possible lower setting. I work out of my car and gets to be a pain going from what I have/had to this set up that I hope is just a hidden setting I'm missing. In buffalo it may be sunny but cold enough to need heat. The TL never seems to try to bring the temp up by cranking the fan like in other cars. The Tl seems to only push air the temp the auto setting is set to at a low fan setting. I read the on line owners manual that is next to useless for this problem.

It will kick the fan to "Hi" if you set the Auto temp to "MAX" (not sure about "MIN").

Regards the sun sensor, check the Owners Manual for descriptionof how it works. Nice idea; don't really have any comment on how effective it is.

If you did not get or do not have an Owners Manual:

Correct it will max fan setting if you tell fan speed to do so in my TL. I would think like on other Acura's I know of that have a auto fan setting and a auto air direction setting (like in this picture that shows setting are possible on my RSX)
http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/1928009/
it would crank the fan when the temp is not building fast enough and move air from feet to window to center as needed automatically with sensors like the sun sensor and places I'm not sure yet on the TL may have.

Right. I get what you're saying and mine does the same.

What I mean is that MIN and MAX are temp settings, not fan speed settings.

My temp settings go from (iirc) MIN --> 60* --> ..... --> 86* --> MAX.

If you put the system in AUTO and the temp to MAX (or MIN), it will immediatly run the fan at high speed.

Doesn't really solve your problem, but I don't think anything will. It's not a "problem" pe se, but a design complaint.

Of course living in the south and having a garage kept car, I don't have the same complaint; that is I don't have the need for Max cooling or heating the vast majority of the time.

My TL CC does automatically increase and decrease fan speed quite a bit when needed (i.e. at car start) if set on "Auto" and a preset temp-- both for heating and cooling.

IIRC, a couple of AZ members had their inside temperature sensors, located under the dash near the steering wheel column, go bad-- you may want to check that out.

I found the problem with my system. On the drivers side lower dash board to between the steering wheel and center dash and floor you will see a little vent/ slits about 1"/1/2". That is a temp sensor. If you take the panel under that off you will see it and that it has a semi clear white plastic tube that goes to the vents. On mine the tube was unpluged from the vents and it was in front of another other vents that is down in that area that releases the heat/cool air from the climate control. So on my system the way it was working the climate control system would turn on and the sensor would sense the air coming out instead of sampling it the way it should form the little vent/slits I mentioned and turn it's self off. The person that installed my remote starter must have unpluged it by accident.
