Audio out jack location

Just curious, where are you guys hooking up your amps? Where is the exact location of the connection, is it just a standard L/R, RCA audio out jack. I assume its behind the head unit in the dash.

It's a lot more complicated than that. There are lots of threads on how to do it all over this portion of the forum.

1 search a minute isn't too user friendly though, at least when your at work. That would be great if anyone can help.

Thanks man. Looks like the my best option would be too run a quality output converter right behind the OE head unit to an amp in the trunk.

I'm thinking about upgrading the 8" and keep OE placement/looks/trunk space. I've read quite a few threads lately. Seems like the Kicker 8" from Crutchfield is good deal, even though a mounting adapter is needed. Any opinions on the Kicker so far?

I took the signal after the factory amp (giving me a nice, high signal) and ran that to line out converters (2 - 4 input devices needed), then to the amps.

This is the best route if you want to save money, but if you want to spend a little bit more have have better quality audio, drop the LOC's and get an AMP with high voltage inputs.

I know I sure have more to read on the subject. But, I thought you get a better quality sound by using a quality converter nearest to the source, to prevent noise. I would much rather connect to the OE amp to another amp.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Any quality amp brand/model in mind w/ high voltage inputs? I was planning to get a 1 channel Alpine, just for the sub upgrade.
