Audio CD time/progress help
Audio CD time/progress help
Apologies for the absolutely stupid/trivial problem I have, but it's really bothering me. I have a 2005 TL Navi.
After I got my car back from the shop today, I noticed that when I play a CD, the small LCD at the top of the dash now only says: CD#, Track#. I could've sworn it used to display the time/progress of the track you're listening to as well, but now it doesn't. Is it possible to turn it back on?
Moreover, I'm definitely sure I used to be able to seek through a CD track by holding the Chanel Up/Down button on the steering wheel. Now, it no longer lets me and only skips to the next/previous track, no matter how long I hold the buttons. Are these two issues are related?
Thanks for the help. =)

Audio CD time/progress help
Hello Cyridame,
If I'm correct, there weren't any differences between the 04 and 05 Nav radio systems...
That being the case, what you see on the upper display is correct, the time/progress of the track you're listening to is only displayed on the main Nav screen when it is in "Audio" mode. Press the "Audio" button located three buttons to the right of the Nav joystick while playing any CD or DVD.
When you say scan a track via the wheel buttons, I assuming you mean fast forward and reverse, a function not supported per the owner’s manual.
The way the three audio buttons on the wheel work in CD or DVD mode is as follows - the Volume button only controls volume, the Channel button allows you to select any track on the disc currently playing and finally, the Mode button selects the audio source, i.e. Disc, FM1, FM2, AM, XM or Tape if a cassette is loaded.
The Scan Track and Scan Disc functions are not accessible from the wheel; they are enabled via the main Nav screen or the buttons on the radio face. BTW, the scan function samples about 10 seconds of each track or the first song on each disc and once it finishes a complete scan, it resets to off.
Sorry but I guess this doesn’t help your situation but just incase I'm wrong, check with your service advisor at Acura and they can verify the Disc operation.
Good Luck!
