I would but being in NY doesnt help...... the only thing u need is money and the parts are a bitch to come across you need a lot of patience to acquire some of them....unless you buy them from the source (acura) or u find them here....either way goodluck.

This guy send a custom made EZ to install harness that plugs right in.

I have been watching his auctions/store and he has sold quite a few of these kits with good feedback on them.

I ran into a problem when after I bought this I took it to a couple different places to install it. They told me that the wires were cut and that they couldnt install it because they dont know what wires go where. Now I am getting a refund from the guy for the wires and buying Martin's wires, so do you know if I put Martin's wires with the parts I have, will this install?

 

with Martins wires you should be fine. But do you have a roof harness ??

 

I'm not sure, I'm really not familiar with all these parts and stuff. Those pics in that link are all that I have.

 

Can anybody tell if there's a roof harness in those pics or if you guys have a pic of one?

 

Non-Nav to Nav conversion is finished but I smashed my camera in frustration during install so no pics but thanks you guys for all your help

hey bimmerman, do i need a roof harness? im buying the wires from martin, is that included in those? i posted a link above with the parts i have and im switching out the wires in those pics with martins wires. do i have all the necessary parts?

 

To be honest I am not really sure, I have not does this conversion yet myself. I am still in the early stage where I am learning and gather parts.

I'm really not sure either but if you look at the plugs and if there is 2 ( brown and white ) then the roof harness is there.

I saw this thread, and have been reading that the harnes's and navigation components are hard to find. I came across a listing on ebay, Item number: 220370408495. Seller claims he has all navi components off a TL with factory installed navigation. My TL came installed with navigation but any one who is intrested in installing a navi, looks like a good deal.

 

Well I spent $1000 on all components and $250 on wiring. It took me about 10 hrs to install everything.

 

i too came across this auction, asked the guy for everything needed to convert my non navi to nav and he wants $2500!!! said it would cost 8k for everything from dealer but he would take 2500! hell you can get the complete kit for 1799 from the hondatech ebay seller

 

you can order the harnesses right off of acuraoemparts.com.... juts gotta look for it.

 

Im gonna try this also as soon as I can source the parts for a good price. Everyone paying only a 1000 for parts, im getting quoted 1500-2000 just for the screen,radio, and player. Crazy. Plus im gonna need to antenna and harnesses.

 

I just watched a nav screen and radio go on ebay for $215 so keep your eyes open.

Got my parts from craigslist.org locally. So far, I have the touchscreen, DVD, and sub-display. Does anyone know where the GPS antenna is supposed to be installed?
