Anyway to get rid of "1" when calling from Navi destination Screen

Anyway to get rid of "1" when calling from Navi destination Screen
The screen only shows area code and number. Shouldn't it know if area code is the same or something, not to dial one. Alltel does not use "1" when dialing long distance, just area code.
