Raspberry Pi as a Car PC?
I was thinking about buying a Raspberry Pi to install XBMC on and using it as a HTPC Media Center for my TV. It has enough juice to play 720P and 1080P video and it doesn't require much to power it up. Best thing is.. it's only priced at $35.
It's got me wondering though.. has anybody installed or thought about installing a Raspberry Pi in their car?
Here's a few links for those who are interested:

Where do you find specs on the touchscreen to see if display drivers are available for it? Same for the speakers? Is there an amp that takes line out that can be used?

Yes, I have, since our navi has been on the fritz for like a year. We have a 2006 Acura TL, and I got to thinking that it would be cool to replace the dvd unit in the trunk with a raspberry pi (or some similar Linux or Windows media pc) and use the touchscreen and the speakers with it.

I have a Raspberry Pi that I use for XBMC.
It works. And, I love it. But, it's slow at retrieving large directories.
For instance, if you have a couple hundred movies, or albums, it takes a long time between when you click the share, and when it displays the results.
I pretty much only use mine when going to someone else's house. And I put movies on a thumb drive.
However, if someone decides to do this. I'd recommend using RaspBMC rather than standard installation. RaspBMC gives you overclocking options and just seems to work better.
