Any preference as to which Nav/Video interface to use?
I'm looking to put a running XBMC in the TL. While I'm at it, I may also throw in a back-up camera.
So, obviously I need a video input to the stock nav screen.
I've been looking around and I'm seeing a lot of different options. Ranging from around $160 to over $400.
I've looked through this forum but, I haven't found any comparisons of the models.
These are the ones I've found.

I'm just now noticing that none of these adapters give you audio inputs. I curently have an iSimple installed. So, that won't be a huge problem. But, I'll lose my Bluetooth input I've been using (unless I install a switch).
So, has anyone used any of these adapters. If so, what are the pro/cons?

And, I'm not completely opposed to going the tablet route.
But, I want an easily removable large capacity storage option (ext HDD). From what I'm seeing with these tablets, they only have one USB port (charging port).
I don't really use my stock nav other than to see what road is coming up next. So, it wouldn't be the end of the world if it were gone. But, it's still nice to have it when I need it.
Most of the people with the tablets in their dash seem to have chosen tablets that once installed leave the tablet's home button, or brand logo exposed. I'm far too OCD for that.
Does the video quality of the stock screen suck that bad?

Hey I just joined Acuzine. Have you found a good solution for your car? I'm in the market for a TLX and I'm hoping to make use of the stock upper screen for mirroring. Since I'm all about keeping the stock screen intact using a video interface like Naviks is the only option for me. Beyond that however I've considered options like Raspbmc, re-purposing an old tablet with a mirroring app or just buying a kivic one.
Your tablet issue is simpler to solve. You need a OTG cable to connect both an external USB device while charging your Smartdevice and even add the JoyCon adapter to control the tablet using your car buttons. The cbutter video pretty much sums it up.
