I searched and came across differing opinions.

I own a 05 TL and the Navi is realllllly outdated for my city now. If I buy the newest/any TL disk will it work in my TL?

You will need the Orange Disk. Version 3.70 is the latest, but last I checked it's on backorder from Alpine. If the disk you have is the original that came with the car, it should be version 3.40 (2005 update). See if you can find a version 3.50 or newer on Ebay or Craigslist, otherwise you will likely have to wait until the fall for the 2009 update.

White or Black disks WILL NOT WORK.

each year and model of acura has a different color disc to identify it- and each runs its own version series- not interchange between years or models!!

Acura.com gets you the correct new ones for about 200 direct from alpine- thats the only source for legit new ones
You can buy used ones a year or 2 or more old, when someone upgrades, but why not get the latest one for yourself and enjoy!

 

Yea the city of Charlotte has grown BIG time since 05.

Just trying to determine if it was worth upgrading. Does the look, feel, and options seem newer with each version or are they static?
