Ok, I've been searching for the past few days and have come up with very little info. So far I've come to the conclusion that the only things available to the 08 guys is the background change. But I havn't been able to find a thread with instructions or what files need to be taken from the 4.63 Nav disk.

Any links or comments on where to find this information would be appreciated. Also +1 for ppl trying to do the OK Nag/Trip Computer for 08's!!!

Can I get a step by step instructions on how we can hack 08 TL NAV system ?

 

can you change the background without voiding the warranty?

 

You can just as easily switch the nav background back to factory the same way you changed it.

Here is the link to changing the background on 07-08 TL's, It has relativley good instructions, the file names on their are for an 07, on an 08 you just change all the "07's" to 08's.

Am a new guy here and a new TL/Navi owner. Were u able to find a hack for bypassing the "OK" button for the Nav system for the latest 4.63 Nav Disk version?

Tried to search on here and google and couldn't find anything.

I'll try to see if I can do the welcome screen mod that you guys did...but wanted to see if there's also that "OK" button hack that I can do at the same time.

I followed the instructions above.....but am stuck at that point where you extract Opening1.bmp on step 4.....it says that I should be able to view the default screen...but the extracted bmp file can't be opened....am I doing something wrong?

I have the latest Navi Version 2008.

Send me a PM and I could walk you through it. I tryed to do a picture for JV but it messed up. It's like some photo's will work like a charm, others not so much. I've gotten everything to be what the link says but his picture wouldn't work, but the picture I used does work. heres my background.



I just grabbed it off the " Background BMP " thread in the Nav section and modified it as the DIY explains.

 

I too am looking for the bypass hack. I made the mistake of not reading too in depth on the major post about hacks, got me a blank DVD-R, sat down and sure enough, found the part about how it doesn't yet work on 4.62

 

lol, yah it deffinatly sucks, i dont think anything will be out soon, but we can always hope. Also, you don't need a DVD-R, a plain CD-R will work just fine.

 

maybe we can all meet up and CBP TL-S can hook us up with the background change

 

I'm down with doing it. I just seem to run into some problems sometimes im not sure why, I've tryed seraching but to no avail. The image has to be sized down to a certain dimension and be a certain Bytes in size. I'll have all that right and sometimes it still wont work, but others it works fine. Just make sure you have like 3-4 pictures that you like and hopefully i'll be able to get at least 1 of them to work.

It only takes about 15-20 min per image/cd.

Quick Q before I try this, does this change only the startup background or the background of all the menus?
