Another Acura PC
why can't you guys just leave the gps antenna under the dash? My Escort 9500ci gets good locations by placing the antenna there. I know it's not exactly mapping out my routes but it has to detect locations well enough to tell me about gps locations for stuff like redlight cameras and speedtraps.

^^ My PC is my the trunk so the easiest way was to place the antenna not to far. I made a lot of test and I finally placed my antenna below the rear deck just before the trunk light. It gives me 8-9 sat lock every time.
i don't what with my trunk. every where i place my gps antana it cant get any sat lock.
Mine is under the front dash. When the car is parked in the garage it takes about 15-30 seconds to lock on the sats once I pull out of the garage. When it's parked outside it locks onto the sats right away, 8-9 sats too.
King: so on the screen bezel, you took a non-Navi bezel, cut it to fit the LCD in there, correct? How does the LCD and bezel actually get attached or held in place?
I am trying to figure out if I should buy a non-Navi bezel, cut it, etc. *or* if I buy a Navi. bezel, and just attach my own LCD screen.
My concern is being able to secure the bezel and LCD to the car...I haven't seen pictures/description of how people are actually attaching it all.
Thanks!

Mine isnt really "fixed" to the bezel....it simply stock inside the metal case. You need to modify a little the metal case, but it's a 2 minutes job. The worst part is the fitting.
Im planing on removing the front plastic cover of my Xenarc and make it blend with bezel....mp3car.com has a lot of fabrication technics in the FABRICATION zone....

The LCD/Circuit board (it's all-in one unit) is housed in a metal case and this case is bolted to the back of the bezel. The dimensions of the metal case fit my touchscreen almost perfectly. I took the bezel out, opened the hole for the touchscreen. There was alot of cutting and test measuring with the metal case and bezel. I placed the touchscreen in the metal case and bolt everything back together. It's really not that simple but that's it in a nutshell.
So I would need to modify the metal case? I guess then I want to try to buy a bezel that comes with a metal case just to make it easier. Someone was selling just the bezel, but I think I want the metal case so I don't need to destroy my factory one in case I ever want to revert things.
all you need now is...
a wrist watch that is linked up to the car
a front lcd scanner
a black semi that follows you around
a leather jacket and some bad acting
you'll be able to go on a lonely crusade to help the innocent.
awesome job, starting from the research down to the execution!
