Talking Amp Rack options?

Hey all,

Anyone have advice on amp racks for our car? I have narrowed my options down to either under the rear deck or against the back seats. Ideally I would like to keep the spare tire as-is and this is why I'm thinking either rear-deck or attached to the back seat.

Initially there will be a RF 3sixty.2 and two Kenwood amps (roughly 10"x14") mounted to the rack if this helps with any recommendations.

I feel that under the rear deck might be easier however I'm not sure how this will impact the sound of my sub in the trunk. The rear speakers and factory sub will be removed and as mentioned in another thread, the rear deck will be deadened on top too. Is it best to leave the factory holes open and unobstructed for the bass to go through into the cabin? I know I can leave the arm rest down/open in the back seat as a passthrough but I don't know if I should leave the holes in the rear deck open too. If this is the case, obviously a rack underneath the deck would not be ideal.

Just thinking out loud here. Thanks as always for the advice, it is truly appreciated.

Steve

Don't do this, tell say it look like a TV tray. I think the best spot is under the rear shelf or against the rear seats, or better if you dont need the spare. For the spare well . Thats my next move.

You're going to want to seal the rear deck completely. Bass is 'felt', not so much 'heard'

Only if you are doing an infinite baffle setup.

If you are going to run a sub in a box in the trunk then the sound is going to need some way to get to you. I would leave the rear speaker ports open for the sound to reach you.

Hey guys, thanks for all of the input. With a little search magic I was able to find what I was looking for here:
