I just had mine done and they quoted me $358, they sent the repaired unit back in 48 hours.

 

Yea it's $358 directly thru Alpine...the $470 price is if you go thru the stealership. Acura want a piece of the pie if they are gonna be the middle man. Stupid! You would think with all the navi drives failing (as in 90% of them in the US!! Smh) Alpine would do a recall on these units since they were the one who designed and built the faulty drives.

 

Guys is there any after market unit hat could install instead of the stock navigation unit? The navi was sucks anyway.. Thanks.

 

no, but if someone else knows of one let me know because i have already replaced mine once and it has been broke again for the last 6 months. these units are garbage

 

Anyone ever contacted united radio In New york? I know they are a authorized Alpine repair center.

 

If/when mine goes out I'm going to replace with a tablet. You get 100x better graphics and so many more features for minimal additional work. IMO it makes the interior look newer and better when done right.

 

Thread resurrection! I can confirm it is still $358 for Alpine DVD drive repair. I just sent thru UPS. wait and see..........

 

Alpine service was quick and thorough. replaced drive mechanism, power board and provided a new navigation disc.
works like new
